The outfit you choose should be adapted to the location and to Santorini with its very warm temperatures and possible wind, because a huge princess dress might not be the right thing for a wedding on the beach or in 45 degrees in the shade. Therefore, I recommend light fabrics and not too much on the dress.
For advisors in bridal shops, if they do not have your figure, your type and your age in mind, then be sceptical! If you already don't like the style of the saleswoman and she or he has no sense of clothing, then you better leave the bridal shop! How can you take advice from someone who has no sense of fashion?
There are a few things that you just can't make look better in photos afterwards than they actually were, so I want to point this out to you, as I speak from experience. For years sleeveless dresses have dominated the bridal fashion scene. Now, thank God, there are many, many wonderful alternatives! Why I am not a fan of sleeveless dresses? Sleeveless dresses always cut in, no matter how slim the bride is. Besides, the bride always tugs at the top for fear of losing her wedding dress. Sleeves or fine straps can help here.
A piece of advice from me from the bottom of my heart:
Only take a few people with you for the appointment at the bridal shop. Too many people give too many different opinions, and that only brings chaos and stress. Choose the people who will accompany you to the fitting carefully. My suggestion, 2 to maximum. 4 people are enough - because too many cooks spoil the broth.
An additional piece of advice:
Imagine you have a hairstyle during the fitting that is similar to your wedding day and some make-up - can you already feel the bridal feeling? Before the wedding dress fitting, make an appointment for the hairstyling / make-up or just treat yourself to a hair appointment. You can also combine this as an event with your girls, a Bride to be Wellness - Day!
EXTRA TIP:
People who wear glasses usually tell me: "Without glasses I don't recognize myself".
Then on your wedding day, all you have to say is: YOLO (you only live once) :) I have nothing against glasses, I had glasses too. But on photos this is problematic, and here is the reason for it: When you look at each other, when you have an intimate moment of peace and quiet together and the photographer takes a picture of it - the glasses will always cover your eyes. The eyes are important in photographs; they express feelings. They reflect so much.
A PAIR OF GLASSES TAKES AWAY A LOT OF EMOTIONS.
